Run over by train

A woman was knocked down and killed by a train in the Hettimulla
area, Beruwela on Monday afternoon.
Police spokesman SSP I.M. Karunaratna said a woman was run over by a
Colombo bound Matara train in the Hettimulla area at around 12.30pm.
However, he said the victim has not been identified yet and described
her as a woman aged about 55, height 5.2', slim and of dark complexion.

A special Bodhi Pooja to mark the 30th anniversary of Ruhunu Sevaya
of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation will be held at the Historic
Bodhiya Premises, Matara, on February 3 at 6.30 p.m
The Ruhunu Sevaya was the regional broadcasting station of the SLBC.

Weligama Police arrested a man for allegedly seeking a sexual favour
from a female teacher after threatening to kill her if she did not
oblige.
Police said the suspect had posed the death threat while the two were
travelling in a bus. The suspect was due to be produced in Court
yesterday.
Liquor outlets closed on Feb 4
