Due to the direct response nature and the cost effectiveness, many
business professionals today in Sri Lanka have opted to rely on internet
marketing activities. However since the practice of internet marketing
is relatively new, the need for a proper avenue to obtain the knowledge
in this field is getting highlighted among many corporate and business
At the last year’s workshop
As an initiative towards fulfilling this need in the market, a
workshop on e-Marketing was organized by the Asia Marketing Association.
The workshop was attended by the representatives of both big and small
companies in Sri Lanka. With the encouraging feedback and due to the
subsequent demand, Asia Marketing Association is organizing a repeat
session of this workshop again on February 13. This one day workshop
will cover three key areas (Web site marketing, Email marketing and
Search engine marketing) in three sessions.
No prior knowledge on internet marketing is expected from the
participants as the workshop is designed for beginners as well as
experienced online marketeers. The workshop is specifically designed for
both senior and junior managers/executives of big and small business
This will also be a fine opportunity for marketing and IT students
who wish to pursue their careers as eCommerce and eMarketing
professionals. The workshop will be held at the Park Premier Conference
Hall at Excel World, Colombo 10. After the workshop, the participant
will be guided to obtain the “Certified eMarketer (CeM)” status, one of
the world’s most recognized eMarketing qualifications.
This certification is offered by the eMarketing Association (USA)
upon meeting certain criteria and passing online exams. eMA (USA) is the
world’s largest association for Internet Marketing with over 10,000
marketing professionals, members from over 65 countries.
The workshop will be facilitated by Suranga Priyashantha, who has
over six years of experience in the field of eCommerce and eMarketing.
He currently works as the General Manager (eMarketing) of Roomsnet
International Pvt Ltd, which is a global eCommerce company based in Sri
Lanka. He is a Certified eMarketer and also holding a B.Sc. special
degree in Marketing Management, the Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing
offered by CIM (UK) and the Graduate Diploma in IT offered by BCS (UK).
