Yatinuwara people have shown gratitude

The people of Yatinuwara electorate have endorsed the policies of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa by returning him with a majority of 10,000
votes at the Presidential Election, said Central Province Governor and
SLFP Chief Organiser for the Yatinuwara Electorate Tikiri Kobbekaduwa
said.
Kobbekaduwa told the Daily News that in 1982 when late Hector
Kobbekaduwa as the Presidential Candidate with Yatinuwara as his
traditional base lost the electorate by 2,500 votes. But the voters have
turned around five times over to register a victory by 10,000 votes.
The Yatinuwara people have shown their gratitude to President
Rajapaksa by giving him a resounding victory. The overall victory by
President Mahinda Rajapaksa is a vote of confidence of his policies and
his endeavours to crush terrorism from raising its head again.
He did the impossible by annihilating terrorism when many thought
this was not possible, he added.
The present regime under President Mahinda Rajapaksa's guidance has
done a lot for the Yatinuwara electorate.
Roads had been constructed in 95 villages in the electorate.
The electorate has been developed in many ways which was earlier
confined to towns and cities.
Agriculture especially paddy cultivation and tea has been given a
boost as Yatinuwara electorate has the highest number of Tea Small
Holders and they are now fetching a good price for their harvest.
