Arms cache in Kumana National Park

The Security Forces continuing search and mopping up operations in
the North and East recovered a cache of arms and ammunition on
Wednesday.
Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara said troops of the 68
Division conducting a search operation found arms in the Kumana National
Park on Wednesday.
They recovered 15 of 100 detonator chord rolls, two of 2T oil cans, a
9.9 HP outboard motor OBM and two RPG rounds.
Meanwhile, troops launched an extensive search operation and have
recovered arms and weapons in Adampan, Alampil, Vishavamadu and
Oddusudan areas.
He said troops uncovered 126 MPMG ammunition, six RPG weapons, three
81mm bombs, a hand grenade, two detonators and an LMG drum. |
