CID probes Kurunegala death

The CID and three special police teams are conducting investigations into the killing of the driver of Provincial Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Minister Jayarathna Herath in a grenade explosion in Kurunegala on Monday evening.

“A thorough investigation was launched to probe the incident of the killing of T. M. Indrajith (28) and we are awaiting for the Government Analyst’s report. Once we receive their results we can conclude on the nature of the explosion,” SSP I. M. Karunaratna told the Daily News.

Four others were also injured in the explosion.
