Opportunity for young musicians
The annual Young Soloists concert held by the Symphony Orchestra of
Sri Lanka, has been scheduled for the first week of August this year.
Many of the top level Sri Lankan musicians operating both nationally and
internationally have had their first solo performance with an orchestra
at these Young Soloists concerts. The concerts in addition to setting
standards for young musicians to aspire to, provide a platform for
emerging outstanding talent to be showcased before a discerning musical
audience.
The orchestra welcomes applications from talented musicians under the
age of thirty, to perform at this year's concert. Auditions will be held
in March 2010 on a competitive basis.
Applications giving details of the concerto (or in the case of
singers, the program) to be performed should be sent to the Symphony
Orchestra of Sri Lanka, 83, Dickman's Road, Colombo 5. The closing date
for applications is February 28. |
