Danushka bowls Nalanda to victory

Right arm off spinner Roshan Danushka captured five wickets for 23 as
Nalanda College cruised to a convincing innings and 20 runs outright
victory over Lumbini MV in their inter school under 19 cricket
tournament match which concluded at the Colts CC ground in Havelock Park
yesterday.
Lumbini MV who were forced to follow on were skittled out for just
111 runs in their second innings with Danushka, Gunawardena and
Tennekoon sharing the wickets.
Earlier Nalanda took a huge first innings lead of 131 runs with Sri
Lanka under 19 discard Nipun Karunanayake claiming four wickets for 30.

Lumbini MV: 91 (N. Karunanayake 4 for 30, R. Danushka 3 for 75) and
111 (R. Sandaruwan 29, H. Madushanka 38, S. Gunawardena 2 for 21, R.

Major honours for Bens
St. Benedict’s College took first innings honours over St.
Sylvester’s College Kandy in their inter school under 19 cricket
tournament match which ended in a draw at Kotahena yesterday.
St. Benedict’s: 254 for 7 decl (S. Sampath 69, R. Weerasinghe 49, E.
Ratnayake 60 n.o, R. Sheron 21, D. Wanigasuriya 20, D. Malalasena 3 for
48) and 112 for 1 (N. Fonseka 47, R. Sheron 54 n.o.).
St. Sylvester’s: 202 (E. Ekanayake 53, W. Wijesinghe 54, P. Gayashan
24, D. Perera 3 for 43, S. Sampath 3 for 13).
Sebastianites struggle
St. Sebastian’s College struggled to reach 187 for 9 in their first
innings on the opening day of their rain curtailed inter school under 19
cricket tournament match against St. Peter’s College which began at
Moratuwa yesterday.
St. Sebastian’s: 187 for 9 (O. Fernando 44, R. Fernando 19, A. Alwis
45, V. Alwis 31, A. Mackay 4 for 39, K. Fernando 2 for 11) v St.
Peter’s.
