Backdrop of gigantic development:

'None fails to back President'

When considering the gigantic development initiated and implemented by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, even late President. R. Premadasa, if he was alive today would have definitely joined hands with the present President in the interest of the Nation, said Presidential Advisor A.H.M. Azwer addressing a book distribution ceremony held at Sanchi Arachchi Garden, Colombo.

The ceremony was organized by Municipal Council Member Ajantha Liyanage. Education Minister Susil Premajayantha, Chief City Administrator Omar Kamil, Western Provincial Council Member Renuka Perera were also present.

Yoshitha Rajapaksa handed over books to a large number of children living in and around the Hulftsdorp and Keselwatta areas.

Azwer recalled an incident which occurred immediately after the death of R. Premadasa. Pointing at the Lawyers' Complex besides the meeting place he said, the R. Premadasa Foundation was set up by Sirisena Cooray in that premises. The Siyarata printing press - Official organ of the UNP was located in that building and was brought under the supervision of Razik Zarook, P.C.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe ordered the board displaying Ranasingha Premadasa Foundation name be removed from the place.

Razik Zarook refused the request of Ranil Wickremesinghe. This incident proved how much then Prime Minister Wickremesinghe liked Premadasa.
