Government develops villages
The Government under various programs like Gama Neguma, Maga Neguma
etc has developed villages in all parts of the country.

Padukka-Galagedara Community Water Service Project. Project

Councillors Lionel Kariyawasam, Mahesh Almeda, Sithawaka
Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Ravindra Jayasinghe, Pradeshiya
Sabha members Jayantha Rohana and Gamini Welikala are also

It had done all these developments while waging the war against LTTE
terrorism, said Urban Development and Sacred Area Development Minister
Dinesh Gunawardena.
The Minister made above observations after opening a community
drinking water service project in Halpe and Galagedara in Padukka
implemented under the second water service and sanitary program at a
cost of Rs 13 million on Tuesday.
The project will provide drinking water to nearly 400 families in the
area recycling of garbage and educational programs were too provided for
the residents in the area.
The Government has given freedom and a free country to the people.
We are confident that the people will show their gratitude, the
Minister said. Minister Geethanjana Gunewardena, Provincial Councillors
Mahesh Almeda, Lionel Kariyawasam, Sithawaka Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman
Ravindra Jayasinghe, Project Director Goonapala Pathirana and several
others were also present. |
