Donation to children's hospital

The City of Viaardingen in the Netherlands donated essential
equipment to the Cardio Thoracic High Dependency Unit for Lady Ridgeway
Children's Hospital, Colombo recently.
NAAL President SPC Kumarasinghe handing over the equipment
to LRH Director Dr. Mahanama Rajamanthree and Dr. Anoma
Perera. Two matrons, a doctor, sister-in-charge of the HDU
were also present at the handing over ceremony. |
The donation was made at the request of Dr. Anoma Perera, Consultant
at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRHC).
The Netherlands Alumni Association of Lanka (NAAL) donated an
Emergency trolley and eight stands for infusion pumps all made of
stainless steel at a cost of over Rs 200,000 with the funds provided by
Yvonne Batenberg of the City of Viaardingen in the Netherlands. said
NAAL President S.P.C. Kumarasinghe.
This equipment will be used at eight high dependency unit attached to
the Cardio Thoracic surgical section, said NAAL President.
The NAAL has helped the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children since mid
1980s and the first ever Ventilator to the ICU of the LRCH and an
Ambulance was also donated by the NAAL with the funds provided by
schoolchildren in the Netherlands, the NAAL President said. |
