More funds for Colombo

Funds have been flowing through the Jathika Saviya - Gama Neguma, Samurdhi and Decentralized Budget for the development of areas coming under the Colombo Divisional Secretariat, Divisional Secretary, K.G. Dharmathilake told the Daily News yesterday.

Accordingly, 149 projects were completed in 2008 spending over Rs.20 million. In 2009, the number of projects implemented through the same sources exceeded Rs. 24 million in over 150 projects within the Colombo Divisional Secretariat area.

A total of 299 projects had been launched in 32 Grama Niladari divisions for the benefit of over 400,000 people during 2008 and 2009.

The number of projects implemented under Jathika Saviya - Gama Neguma program were ten during 2008 and 2009.

It was 67 and 222 under the Samurdhi and decentralized budget programs respectively.
