Market up

Market sentiments tended to be bullish with all time high levels in anticipation of healthy company earnings in the coming year. The benchmark ASPI climbed 52.13 points while the more liquid MPI edged up by 31.78 points to end the day in triumphant green territory with 3344.89 points and 3809.02 points respectively yesterday.

The turnover for the day was Rs 563 Mn substantial dip pertained to the last week average turnover of Rs 1.0 Bn. The volume level for the day was 14 Mn. Under the prevalent jubilant sentiments, bourse witnessed four crossings yesterday.

The second largest commercial bank in the island, HNB testified three chunks of crossings amounting to 0.6 Mn shares changing hands at Rs 165 each. Meanwhile COMB, the banking giant witnessed a single parcel of 0.053 Mn shares trading hands at Rs 190.
