Ibunu takes 6 for 34

Skipper Ishan Ibunu's magnificent bowling performance of 6 for 34 guided Zahira College Maradana to a convincing first innings win over Maris Stella College Negombo in their schools under 19 Division one cricket match played at Zahira ground on Thursday.

Zahira batted first and put 198 on board and in reply Maris Stella were 106 all out. In addition to the Zahira skipper, the Sri Lanka under 15 player Irshad Umar too had a great day, picking up three for 34. At close of play, Zahira were 103 for 3 in their second innings.

Zahira: 198 (Shameer Ahmed 34, Imraz Rafi 31, Irshad Umar 26, M. Hilam 20, Nicholo Fernando 3 for 33, Dushmantha Chameera 2 for 28) and 103 for 3 (Irshad Muhammed 39 n.o., Imraz Rafi 33 n.o., Ishan Ibunu 18, Matheesha Wijerathne 2 for 21)

Maris Stella : 106 (S. chaturanga 15, V. Kanchaka 16, Ishan Ibunu 6 for 34, Irshad Umar 3 for 26)
