NCC in smashing six wicket win over Saracens

NCC kept their hopes alive of winning the SLC Premier League title with a smashing six wicket outright victory over Saracens SC on the third and final day of their Tier ‘A’ tournament match which concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

Saracens SC were bundled out for 230 runs in their second innings with the pace spin combination of Kosala Kulasekera and Chanaka Komasaru causing most of the damage.

Saracens SC: 247 and 230 (K. Alwis 28, N. Abeyratne 46, R. Rathika 51, S. Dushantha 30, K. Kulasekera 3 for 53, C. Komasaru 4 for 66, R. Wijenayake 2 for 42).

NCC: 270 and 209 for 4 (Y. de Silva 37, S. Pradeep 92, D. Chandimal 22, C. Wijesinghe 42 n.o, R. Wimaladharma 2 for 37).

Shohan bowls CCC to victory

Spinner Shohan Boralessa snapped up four wickets for 40 to steer the CCC to a convincing 136 run outright victory over Sri Lanka Army SC on the third and final day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match which concluded at Panagoda yesterday. CCC: 164 and 264.

Army SC: 147 and 145 (H. de Zoysa 22, C. Vithanage 24, T. Soysa 21, I. Karunatilleke 25, T. Mendis 2 for 17, S. Boralessa 4 for 40, N. Perera 3 for 31).

Sachithra excels for SSC

A sustained spell of bowling from veteran spinner Sachithra Senanayake (6 for 110) helped the SSC pull off an easy first innings victory over Baduraliya CC on the third and final day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match which concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

SSC: 506 and 356 for 1 (N. Perera 153, D. Karunaratne 83, H. Fernando 100 n.o).

Baduraliya CC: 314 (D. Vitharana 43, T. Attanayake 53, T. Sampath 62, V. Subramaniam 27, S. Silva 45, U. Perera 57, N. Zoysa 2 for 58, S. Senanayake 6 for 110, M. Fernando 2 for 75).

Bloomfield fall short by two wickets

Bloomfield ran out of time and overs as they fell short by just two wickets from an outright victory before conceding first innings points to Tamil Union on the third and final day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier ‘A’match which concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Bloomfield: 195 and 305 for 3 decl (T. Gunaratne 126, D. Munaweera 54, C. Silva 30, S. Dissanayake 74 n.o, J. Mendis 2 for 98).

Tamil Union: 227 and 178 for 8 (A. Priyanjan 52, P. Seneviratne 39, S. Serasinghe 22 n.o, T. Fernando 2 for 21).

Umesh wrecks Singha SC

Off spinner Umesh Karunaratne captured seven wickets for 146 as Seeduwa Raddoluwa CC cruised to an easy 111 run outright victory over Singha SC, Ambalangoda in their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier ‘B’ match which concluded at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.

Seeduwa RCC: 238 and 300 (M. Fernando 121, G. Kumara 64, R. Dhammika 41, K. Liyanage 5 for 82, T. Perera 2 for 41).

Singha SC: 164 and 263 (S. Ranasuriya 87, C. Kavinga 21, M. Kumara 22, N. Weerasinghe 46, T. Perera 24 n.o, U. Karunaratne 7 for 146).
