Motorcyclist robbed

Sumathipala Deeyagahage - Southern Province Roving Corr.

A motorcycle, worth Rs. 81,000 and a mobile phone worth Rs. 6,000 belonging to the motorcyclist have been robbed by four persons at Wathawana in the Ahangama police area.

The robbery has been committed by blocking the road and threatening him with a knife.

Later the motorcycle was recovered abandoned on the road. Ahangama Police is conducting investigation.

Meanwhile, robbers who entered a house at Pitigala North in the Pitigala Police area have escaped with jewellery worth Rs. 175,000.

Police investigations have revealed that the robbers have entered the house by removing the tiles on the roof of while the inmates of the house were away.

Pitigala Police is investigating.
