Special unit to inquire poll complains

A special Police Unit has been set up to look into the Presidential Election related issues, a Police Headquarters release said.

The Unit will inquire into the violations of election laws and election related complains. On the advice of IGP Mahinda Balasuriya, the unit was established with effect from yesterday.

The Unit is headed by Senior DIG N.K. Illangakoon and DIG Anura Senanayake.

Presidential candidates, their representatives and the public can lodge complains with the special Police Unit. Senior DIG N.K.
