Public warned of bad weather

The Northeast monsoon is breaking out in the Eastern part, Hambantota district and Eastern slopes of the central hills of the country, Meteorologist Chaminda Silva told the Daily News yesterday.

The inter-monsoonal rains had come to an end. There will be thunder showers in many parts of the country in afternoons and evenings in the coming days. These areas may also experience strong winds.

The public is warned to be cautious when such weather prevails, he noted.
