SHU, UK-BBA (Hons) Degree at SLIIT

The first batch of students of the BBA (Hons) Degree program in Business Management, Sheffield Hallam University, UK (SHU) from the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) will be graduating at the beginning of 2010.

The global business environment today is constantly being redefined. In keeping with this development, the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), a pioneer in the teaching of IT is in the vanguard of the arena of Business Management by offering students an opportunity to follow the above degree, a vital path towards enhancing their future career prospects, allowing students to explore their own potential in this field.

SLIIT currently offers the Diploma in Business Management, and upon completion students thereby become eligible for the prestigious Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Honours in Business Management Degree offered by the Sheffield Hallam University, UK. Enrolment to the diploma program requires three passes at the G.C.E A/L examination as well as a pass in the Aptitude Test conducted by SLIIT.

One of the key features of this BBA (Hons) Degree program is the unique subject combination which allows students to gain an in-depth knowledge in the areas such as quality management, strategic marketing, International Business and managing the development and implementation of information systems effectively.

Through this, students may enhance their knowledge base which would be advantageous if they wish to pursue studies in any of the SLIIT's foreign affiliated universities.

Business and Information Management Head Dr. Theekshana Suraweera, said that this comprehensive degree program enables students to carve out a niche for themselves within the arena of Business Management and Information Technology, as it provides opportunities for them to maximise their potential by showcasing their abilities within a fast evolving industry.
