NCP to boost early childhood development

The North Central Provincial Council is taking steps to raise the standard of early childhood development in the Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa Districts.

Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake had directed that in areas like Kebithigollewa, Padaviya, Vahalkada, Welioya, Medawachchiya, Horowpothana, Welikanda and Dimbulagala that came under terrorist attacks in the past, pre-school education should be upgraded in the province.

North Central Early Childhood Development Authority Managing Director Anura Dissanayake said two diploma courses will commence for pre-school teachers with GCE Advanced and Ordinary Level qualifications.
