Student sits O/L in hospital

A student who was admitted to Peradeniya Teaching Hospital with injuries sustained during a clash between two groups of students who sat for GCE (O/L) examination at Sarasavi Uyana exam centre, Peradeniya, had to sit for the same exam inside the hospital premises yesterday.

This student is Saman Polgolla (16) of Dehideniya from the Gannoruwa Junior School.

It is alleged that this student was separated from his colleagues of the same school and assaulted by students belonging to the Sarasavi school.

Peradeniya Teaching Hospital director Dr. Gamini Samarasinghe allowed the student to sit for Buddhism inside the hospital premises yesterday. It is alleged that students from other schools who came to sit for exams here were beaten by students attached to the Sarasavi Uyana school in the past.
