Twenty wickets tumble on first day of Colts - CCC match

A total of 20 wickets tumbled on a dramatic opening day’s play as Colts CC snatched a close first innings lead over CCC on the opening day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match which commenced at Havelock Park yesterday.

Colts CC: 182 (T. Perera 59, R. Silva 54, T. Mendis 3 for 13, S. Boralessa 3 for 46, C. Vidanapathirana 3 for 28). CCC: 141 (J. Mubarak 50, N. Randhika 23, S. Weerakoon 5 for 55, R. Weerasinghe 3 for 18).

Chilaw Marians hit back

Chilaw Marians SC after being bowled out for 124 runs hit back strongly to reduce Bloomfield to 119 for 7 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match which began at Katunayake yesterday. Chilaw Marians SC: 124 (N. Perera 54, L. Weragala 30, S. Randiv 8 for 50). Bloomfield: 119 for 7 (C. Silva 43 n.o., C. Perera 3 for 40, D. Hettiarachchi 3 for 52).

Dimuth, Thilina prop up SSC

Two fighting half centuries from Dimuth Karunaratne (74) and Thilina Thushara (69) helped the SSC reach a healthy 283 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match against Ragama CC which began at Maitland Place yesterday. SSC: 283 (D. Karunaratne 74, T. Thushara 69, K. Lokuarachchi 35, D. Daminda 2 for 67, M. Bandara 3 for 35, N. Premaratne 2 for 75). Ragama CC: 39 for 2.

NCC struggling at 58 for 5

NCC were struggling at 58 for 5 in their rain hit SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match against Tamil Union which commenced at Maitland Place yesterday.

NCC: 58 for 5 (C. Wijesinghe 22 n.o., I. Udana 2 for 19, O. Henry 2 for 14) vs Tamil Union.

Moors 70 for 4

Spinner Rakitha Wimaladharma snapped up three quick wickets as Saracens SC restricted Moors SC to 70 for 4 in their first innings on the opening day of their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match which began at Braybrooke Place yesterday. Moors SC: 70 for 4 (D. Hunukumbura 32, R. Wimaladharma 3 for 21) vs Saracens SC.

Only 16 overs bowled

Only 16 overs were possible on the opening day of the rain hit SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier ‘A’ match between Sri Lanka Army SC and Baduraliya CC which commenced at Panagoda yesterday.

Army SC: 36 for 2 vs Baduraliya CC.
