Zelaya: US nourishes Hondura's dictatorship
Mexico: Honduras' Constitutional President Manuel Zelaya told
Mexico's La Jornada daily the change in the US stance has strengthened
the dictatorship ruling in his country.
In an exclusive interview published by the Mexican daily today, the
president said "we were left half the road, in the middle of the
current," referring to Washington's stance. The deal reached on October
30 contains 12 points, and if one of them is not accomplished, the
agreement is not valid, Zelaya pointed out, and added he made it clear
he does not accept arrangements to legitimize the coup.
The US changed its policy regarding the Honduras situation, and they
must respond to international law, because "I am the president of
Hondurans, the one they say they recognize," he noted.
With its new stance the White House has weakened, split the
international public opinion, the President stated.
The White House disobeyed the resolutions of the Organization of
American States and the UN, while ignoring the agreement signed.
When La Jornada asked him if he hopes a change in the US attitude,
the constitutional President affirmed they must comply with the
commitments signed in the framework of OAS and the UN. Mexico, Prensa
