The Opposition is still trying to find a common candidate. However,
the re-election of President Mahinda Rajapaksa who is contesting as the
sole representative of the SLFP cannot be prevented, Local Government
and Provincial Councils Minister Janaka Bandara Tennakoon said.
He added that UPFA Government would remain in power for another 25
years.

reorganize the SLFP youth Leagues and trade unions in the Dambulla
electorate.
Tennakoon said Sri Lankans can stand on their own feet today as a

Therefore no other forces in the country will be able to stop the
forward march of the people who will rally round the Government at the
forthcoming elections, the minister said.
He said the people will select pure SLFPers as their representatives.
A majority of the people are with the SLFP. It is party of the common
man.
