SSP Karunaratne, assistant media spokesman

Inspector General of Police Mahinda Balasuriya has appointed Senior SP S.M. Karunaratne as the assistant Police Media Spokesman with effect from November 14.

Senior SP Karunaratne is also the Director of Police Public Relations and the Director Police Community Centre.

“The electronic and print media has always assisted the Police Media Unit, I will expect the same cooperation and assistance from the media to maintain law and order to the highest standard,” said Assistant Police Media Spokesman Karunaratne.

Karunaratne said he is available to the media personnel at any time. They could contact him on 011-2327227-PPR, 011-2421804, 011-2437979 or 0772602897. Senior DIG Nimal Mediwaka will function as the Senior Police Media Spokesman.
