Differences should be set aside to develop country - Defence Secretary

Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said although the humanitarian war under the leadership of President Mahinda Rajapaksa was over, steps to develop the country was underway.

All of us leaving our differences aside should work hand in hand to develop the country.

He paid a tribute to the Armed Forces who restored peace by defeating the LTTE that sabotaged and destroyed national assets for the last 30 years.

Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa was addressing a public felicitation ceremony at the auditorium of the Panadura Sri Sumangala College to honour two hundred members of the Armed Forces and the police. Special awards were presented to them who were past students of the Panadura Sri Sumangala College.
