Zilva, Hemantha help Colombo South win final

Fine performances by Colombo South As Juliian De Zilva (5 for 33
and 30 n.o) and Dushan Hemantha (3 for 16) helped them to bundle out
Kandy team for 181 runs and win their Prima Champions Trophy Under-15
Inter District Tournament final at Colts Grounds yesterday.
Colombo South A batted first and scored 230 for 9 and in reply
Kandy team were all out for 181 in 38.5 overs.
The two teams showed their brilliance in the semis to reach the
final. Kandy, skippered by Trinity College all rounder Rajitha Jayatunga,
edged out Galle by one wicket in their semi final which was a
nail-biter. Colombo South A captained by Royalist Ronaka Ahangamage,
cruised to a massive win over Badulla.
The tournament saw 26 teams from 24 districts participating in the
initial stages including two teams from Jaffna and Mannar for the first
time in Junior cricket. The first round matches concluded on October 26.
Ceylon Agro-Industries Limited sponsored the tournament for the third
occasion under the brand name Prima and they will be sponsoring this
event for the next three years too, with Sri Lanka Cricket being the
