Two solid half centuries from opener Kanchana Gunawardena and Gihan Rupasinghe and a hostile spell of bowling from placeman Suranga Lakmal helped Tamil Union beat Bloomfield by 98 runs in their rain hit SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier A match worked off at the P. Saravanamuttu Oval yesterday.

Tamil Union: 196 for 8 in 34 overs (R. Kumara 28, K. Gunawardena 51, G. Rupasinghe 50, R. Fernando 2 for 29, S. Randiv 2 for 42).

Bloomfield: 98 in 20.2 overs (C. Silva 28, S. Lakmal 3 for 22, I. Udana 2 for 23, H. Osinde 2 for 30, J. Mendis 2 for 18).

All rounder Amila Wettasinghe hit a fighting half century to help CCC beat Sri Lanka Army SC by 56 runs in their rain hit SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier A match worked off at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

CCC: 166 for 7 in 50 overs (A. Wettasinghe 60, C. Kumara 36 n.o, M. Peiris 2 for 19, S. Prasanna 2 for 36).

Army SC: 110 in 34.3 overs (D. Indika 20, C. Vidanapathirana 2 for 18, N. Perera 3 for 14, N. Randhika 3 for 30).

NCC bowled out their opponents Saracens SC for just 94 runs and cruised to a convincing eight wicket victory in their rain hit SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier A match worked off at Maitland Place yesterday.

Saracens SC: 94 in 25.1 overs (G. Alwis 34, C. Kodituwakku 2 for 26, R. Illepperuma 3 for 24).

NCC: 97 for 2 in 17 overs (U. Tharanga 23, C. Wijesinghe 43 n.o, I. Ratnayake 2 for 24).

Sachithra 4 for 20

Off spinner Sachithra Senanayake snapped up four wickets for 20 to lead SSC to a 42 run victory over Baduraliya CC on the Duckworth and Lewis scoring method in their rain hit SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament Tier A match worked off at Maitland Place yesterday.

SSC: 201 for 8 in 50 overs (L. Fernando 47, J. Sriyapala 62 n.o, K. Lokuarachchi 42, A. Prasad 4 for 42, D. Arnolda 2 for 34).

Baduraliya CC: 136 for 8 in 38.2 overs (T. Sampath 53, U. Perera 23, H. Wickremaratne 22, N. Zoysa 2 for 20, S. Senanayake 4 for 20).
