Elvitigala for world youth scrabble championship

Shalika Lahiru Elvitigala student of the Lyceum International School,
Nugegoda has been selected by the Sri Lanka Scrabble League to represent
Sri Lanka at the forthcoming World Youth Scrabble Championship
Tournament (WYSC) 2009.

The tournament will be held in Johar Bhara, Malaysia from December 8
to 10, 2009. This is the fourth consecutive time Lahira will be
representing Sri Lanka after doing it for the first time in December
2006.
During the previous World Championship tournaments Lahiru Elvitigala
became the youngest player in the top 25 in 2006 and won the Highest
Game scorer title in 2007.
Elvitigala is the current Under 18 All Island Scrabble Champion
defeating more than 250 students including Government and International
Schools throughout Sri Lanka. |
