Close 2-1 win for Kandy YSC

Table leader York Sports Club Kandy scored a hard fought 2-1 win over Comrades Sports Club, Badulla in their Dialog Premier League Soccer Tournament match played at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy on Sunday. At half time York SC led 1-0.

This was York Sports seventh win for the season and they went into this match without six of their regulars. On the other hand Comrades SC too played this match with just 11 players and there were no reserves for substitution for injuries. Referee W.A.C. Wijesekera had show the yellow card to two Kandy York players - one for dangerous play and the other for arguing for the awarding a penalty to Comrades. Kandy York took on early lead when centre forward M. Inoon headed the ball into the nets.

After the short blast they scored again through centre half P.H. Roshan Chaminda off a neat pass from Roshan Chaminda Rodrigo. Comrades reduced the lead through a penalty converted by centre half M. Mansoor. W.A.C. Weerasinghe refereed.
