The services delivered by any Government institution is for the
benefit of the public and for the employees. The Kotapola MPCS has
launched short-term and long-term programs to become an exemplary flag
bearer of the Co-operative Movement by mixing its potential with a sense
of ourness.
"Our objective is to cater to the socio-economic needs of the people
in a more meaningful and pragmatic manner, so that others may follow
us", said the society's new chairman, Nimal Edirisinghe.
He said that a successful cooperative society depends on a tripod to
provide a satisfactory service to the people. This tripod consists of
the customer, employees and the membership.
Under the proposed plan they expect to introduce new management
strategies to create an attitudinal change among employees to make them
contented members of a single family.
The Kotapola MPCS introduced a promotional scheme to reward employees
for efficiency and they will be given an incentive allowance in addition
to their monthly salary.
Other innovative schemes, such as a special allowance for senior and
long-standing employees, an Ombudsman to hear and adress employee
grievances, a housing scheme for employees and scholarships for children
of employees have been introduced for the employees working in the
Kotapola MPCS. Edirisinghe said that they hope to organize a long
service awards ceremony to reward longstanding employees and many other
facilities will be given to the employees. |
