FITISS TechEve for IT professionals
The Federation of Information Technology Industry and Services Sri
Lanka (FITISS) took another initiative to disseminate knowledge among
practising IT executives and managers.
FITISS TechEve is a monthly forum for IT professionals to meet and
enhance their knowledge in an informal setting. Eminent speakers will be
invited to talk on contemporary and important topics in the industry.
According to FITISS CEO Damith Hettihewa, the new program will
disseminate knowledge among practising managers.
As President Mahinda Rajapaksa has declared year 2009 as the Year of
IT and English, FITISS together with its member associations will offer
many similar projects that would help the Government to achieve its
objectives in using ICT as an effective tool in developing the country.
Established in 1996, FITISS is the umbrella organization which
consists of four leading industry associations in the ICT industry. They
are Sri Lanka Association for Software Industry (SLASI), Sri Lanka
Computer Vendors Association (SLCVA), Association of Computer Training
Organizations (ACTOS) and Lanka Internet Service Providers Association (LISPA).
The first TechEve will be held on October 6, at 5.30 pm at the OPA
auditorium.
A visiting faculty member of several local and overseas universities
and Vice President of Epic Lanka (Pvt) Ltd Shanta R. Yapa will address
the participants on 'Managing Innovations - the Untold Perspectives'. |
