Big demand for Java professionals

There is a big demand for professionals in Java technology since the
business world is expanding rapidly creating more opportunities for Java
professionals Head of Academics - Java Technologies, ICBT Campus,
Rajitha U. Kuruppumulle told the Daily News Business.
Sri Lanka’s Java professionals are highly appreciated and trusted for
their quality and they stand high in the international market with
practical knowledge compared to other countries in the region.
He said that many foreign projects are directed to Sri Lanka since
Java professionals in Sri Lanka can deliver a better service than their
counterparts in other countries. In terms of average marks in Sun
Certified examinations, Sri Lankans scored second place in the world.
The salary scale of professionals in the field is decided according
to the company but it is generally between Rs. 70,000 and Rs. 40,000 and
it goes up to US$ 7,000 to US$ 8,000 in the international market, he
said.
There was an increasing demand for Java studies in 2001 as it is
applicable to many areas in the world’s developing technology. It adds
value to one’s academic qualifications as a professional qualification
which is essential in a competitive world.
At present students undergo IT related courses in a manner that they
could not be professionals in the field of computing. It is not only the
value of a certificate that matters at the end of the day but also the
practical exposure to be a professional, he said.
“Java is a computer programming language that is exposed to various
areas such as web applications, mobile applications and various
transactions.
Hence before stepping into this field of Java technology one has to
acquire the basic knowledge of the technology. |
