Air Force heads points table

Air Force with an attacking style of play defeated much fancied Ratnams SC to reach to the top position in the points table in Group 'A' . Airmen with this victory also collected three points to take two point lead over the second placed Ratnam.

Meanwhile the Renown SC which too are a team with young talent tied with Ratnam SC at 10 points each. Though Renown SC is with ten points they have played four games but Ratnams have completed five games so far. In this group the top three teams are equally balanced and they expected to go flat out to maintain their supremacy and to stay on top to reach the semi finals.

The Old Bens SC have failed to collect a single point even though they completed five first round games.

In Group B Don Bosco from Negombo managed to hold on to their top slot after four games but Sri Lanka Army who have finished five matches could not oust the Negombo team from the first slot with only seven points under their belt.

Negombo Youth which once won the Premier League title are lying at the bottom of the table winning only a single game. This week end the leaders in this group Don Bosco will confront the Negombo Youth SC which is expected to be a one sided game with Don Bosco having the advantage over the rivals.

In a another game Jupiters Sc will take on Renown SC where the Colombo team come out as favourite to win this game. A victory here for the Renown team could give them the chance to take a step forward to push Ratnam SC to the third position in Group 'A'. Chatura Gunaratne (Don Bosco SC) was the highest goal getter scoring 3 goals including 2 penalties.

Negombo Youth 2 Beat Police 1 at Maris Stella College grounds, Negombo

Sri Lanka Army 3 drew with Blue Star-Kalutara 3 at FFSL Sports Complex, Kelaniya

Saunders 2 beat Jupitors 1 at City Football Complex, Slave Island

Renown 4 beat Old Bens 2 at FFSL Football Complex, Kelaniya
