Special traffic plan for Army exhibition
Police will implement a special traffic plan around the BMICH from
October 3 to 7 on account of the Sri Lanka Army 60th anniversary
exhibition, said Police Headquarters in a release.
Motorists are requested to use alternate roads to avoid any
inconvenience. Entry towards the BMICH area from the following points
will be prohibited to all vehicles other than those belonging to
residents in the area and official vehicles of employees attached to
offices in the area, it said.
Points of closure will be 1) Kanatte Roundabout entrance to
Bauddhaloka Mawatha, 2) Entrance to Gregorys Lane from Gregory's Road 3)
entrance to Bullers Road from Vidya Mawatha, Wijerama Mawatha Junction,
4) entrance to Bullers Road from Public Administration roundabout, 5)
entrance to Sarana Road and Malalasekara Road from Sarana Road
Malalasekara Mawatha junction. 6) Entrance to Bullers road from Bullers
lane 7) Entrance to Bullers road towards Borella from Torrington Mawatha
8) entrance towards Bullers Road and Borella from Bullers - Jawatta
junction.
Motorists are advised to use the following alternative roads.
1) Vehicles from Borella proceeding towards Bambalapitiya and
Thimbirigasyaya should turn to Kynsey Road and proceed along Gregory's
Road, Horton Place, Maitland Crescent, Independence Roundabout or go
through Maitland Place, Public Administration Roundabout, Independence
Avenue, Reid Avenue, and Tummulla.
2) Vehicles from Jawatta, Bambalapitiya and Thimbirigasyaya to
Borella should proceed along Jawatta Road, Stanley Wijesundara Mawatha,
Reid Avenue, Thurstan Road, Cambridge Place, Albert Crescent, C.W.W.
Kannangara Mawatha and Horton Roundabout to Borella.
3) Vehicles from Narahenpita and Thimbirigasyaya to Thummulla should
proceed along Malalasekara Mawatha, turn left from Sarana Road junction
and go through Bullers Lane or Torrington Avenue to Bullers Lane and
Stanley Wijesundara Mawatha. |
