Fourteen new meet records
Sampath Bandara
Fourteen new meet records were established and one was equalled in
the all island school games which concluded at Sugathadasa Stadium
yesterday.
Milantha Sampath of Polpithigama National School (high jump - 7.30 m)
and S. R. J. P. Senanayake of St. Joseph's Balika MV, Kegalle (12.41 sec
in the 100 m) were adjudged the most outstanding men's and women's
athletes.
Western Province clinched the overall athletic championship with 834
points, Central Province came second with (448 points) and Sabaragamuwa
Province finished third collecting 310 points.
