Suspect with pistol arrested

Colombo Central Crime Investigation Unit on Saturday arrested a suspect at Mahawatte Road, Grandpass and recovered an Italian made 8mm pistol.

In another separate incident, Puttalam Criminal Investigation Unit on Saturday recovered a plastic bottle containing 750 grams of c4 explosives from inside a culvert at Old Mannar road.

Meanwhile Kuruduwatte police on Friday arrested a suspect from Madawala road, Katugastota and recovered huge stock items stolen from various parts of the country. These recovered items include a Toyota van bearing number 59-0188 from the Colombo University premises, six laptops, and 13 mobile phones.

The suspect has further revealed that he had stolen several mobile phones and laptops from parked vehicles in and around Colombo City.
