Melody of peace 2009
The energy of roaring tank engines, cluttering tank tracks and
booming tank guns will be focused momentarily in to organising what
would be, without doubt, 'the musical extravaganza of the year'. Work is
already underway to bring together two of the biggest names in showbiz
to perform on one stage: a 'first' when considering live performances in
Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, better known as 'The Tankers' are a
proud outfit who deliver the 'punch' in battle. They with the monster
battle tanks they command reap havoc in the enemy during battle; and so
contributed immensely towards the glorious victory achieved by the Sri
lanka Army over separatism and terror.
Having fulfilled their obligations to the nation in the battlefield
they've now taken it on themselves to raise funds towards improving
welfare facilities extended to families of their comrades killed and
wounded in battle. 'Melody of Peace - 2009' is what they've come up
with; an exercise that would thrill those who give as well as those who
get.
The mega event is to be held at 7 p.m. on September 19 at the
Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium. What makes this musical event unique is the
fact that two of the biggest names in the Sri Lankan Entertainment
Industry are featured together.
As such, the most popular bands Gypsies and Marians will give all
they got, together, to help the Armoured Corps better the lives of the
families of their fallen comrades. Also performing on stage to thrill
the audience would be the enchanting dancers of the well known Prasadi
Dance Academy.
Now who would doubt the promise held in an evening with such talent
on stage.
Supporting the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps' cause, by moving in as key
sponsors, are Sri Lanka Telecom, market leaders in Sri Lankan
telecommunication; Cosmic Technologies, MPI Group and W. S. R. Fernando
and Company (Pvt) Ltd.
The official media sponsors will be Derana TV / Derana FM, Lake House
and Upali Newspapers.
The Sri Lanka Armoured Corps would be privileged to have you at
'Melody of Peace - 2009' so reserve your tickets, be at the 'musical
event of the year' and support a worthy cause. |
