Sampath 4/37 upsets NCC

Sri Lanka Army Sports Club created a major upset as they edged out the more fancied NCC outfit by a solitary wicket in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament match worked off at Panagoda yesterday.

Leg spinner Sampath Perera snapped up four wickets for 37 to help Army SC dismiss their opponents for 161 runs and then reached their target with four deliveries and one wicket to spare.

NCC: 161 in 49.5 overs (Y. de Silva 40, S. Pussegolla 36, D. Balasuriya 2 for 23, S. Perera 4 for 37)

Army SC: 162 for 9 in 49.2 overs (K. C. Prasad 69, D. Soysa 26, A. Ganegama 3 for 33, M. Fernando 4 for 28)

Moors in thrilling win

Dynamic all rounder Dilhara Lokuhettige slammed a run a ball 48 with two sixes and five boundaries to help Moors SC pull off a thrilling one wicket victory on the Duckworth and Lewis scoring method in the last ball of the innings over Bloomfield in their SLC Premier limited overs cricket tournament match worked off at Reid Avenue yesterday.
