UNP Kegalle District Organizer pledges support to UPFA

United National Party District Organizer for the Kegalle District, Nimal Somaratne having resigned from all positions held by him in the UNP, pledged a support to the UPFA at a public meeting held recently in Dedigama to felicitate the Minister of Enterprise Development Mano Wijeratne on his appointment as SLFP organizer for Dedigama.

Nimal Somaratne was the Private Secretary to the late President D.B. Wijetunga.

Somaratne said that it is the duty of every patriotic person to rally round the President Mahinda Rajapaksa and the UPFA as an expression of gratitude for his endeavour to defeat LTTE terrorism.

Somaratne further said that massive development programs are being implemented in every part of the country.

"Therefore, I decided to support the Government in order to consolidate the Government so that it could make the country prosper", Somaratne added.
