Bus passengers clash with crew

A passenger was arrested by police following a dispute between bus crew and passengers at the Bastian bus stand in Colombo on Thursday night.

Police spokesman Senior DIG Nimal Mediwake said a crowd gathered to travel to a holiday destination taking account of the long weekend had a dispute with bus crew at the Bastian bus stand. The huge crowd gathered to travel to the same destination had quarrelled with the bus crew, who refused to deviate from their scheduled departure timetable.

This has Sequently led to an clash between the crew and passengers. Police rushed to the scene and arrested a passenger. A conductor injured in the incident was admitted to hospital.
