HSBC beat Standard Chartered bank by 66 to 59 in the Mercantile ‘D’
Division League Basketball semi-final played at Otters Sports Club
Basketball courts.
HSBC was in the lead at half time by 33 points to 27.
A. Wejesuriya was the top scorer for the winning team with 20 points,
Rachitha Withanage 18 and Garin Hepponstl with 18 points. Rizan Usuf was
the Highest scorer for Standard Chartered Bank with 28 points. Suranga
Palliaguruge scored 11 points and Lasantha Fernando nine points.
Hayleys PLC defeated Expo Lanka Group by 71 points to 68 in the
Mercantile ‘B’ Division League Basketball Semi Final played at the same
venue.
Expo Lanka Group led 34 points to 33 at half time.
Ranil Ganewatta made valuable contributions to the winners with 36
points. Thilan Segera scored 18 points.
Manjula Senanayake scored 19 points for Expo Lanka Group, Hareen
Weerasingha got 16 and Roshan Wickramarathna collected 13 points.
