Islamic scholars unite

The All Ceylon Jamiyathul Ulama strongly believes that it is the urgent call of the hour and an irrefutable religious obligation to act at once for the restoration of the accord among the entire Muslim community.

Consequently, the ACJU has been active for the past few weeks to craft and initiate various actions.

Accordingly, one of the noteworthy initiations it has taken is establishing a body consisting of renowned Islamic religious scholars who represent various accepted Islamic sects and Da'wa organizations present in this country.

This body which will be functioning under the designation Council of Corporation and Consolidation held its second assembly in the head office of the ACJU on 25.08.2009 with remarkable success. Prominent Ulama who represent Tharikas namely Shaduliyya, Qadiriyya, Alawiyya, Nakshabandhiyya and Musthabaviyya along with the recognized Islamic religious scholars who represent the All Ceylon Thabligh Jama'ath participated in this gathering.

During this gathering various important issues were analyzed by the Islamic intellects and it was unanimously agreed upon that it is of paramount importance to re-establish the unity in the Ummah.

Certain guidelines also were established upon the unanimous consent of the present Ulama ensuring that no similar unpleasant incidents ever occur in the name of the religion in this country.

The resolution was reinforced by the collective pledges of adherence of the representatives present. In addition, certain guidelines and disciplines also were established during the meeting.
