Statue of late Mahanayake Thera to be installed
A statue of late Ven. Agga Maha Panditha Madihe Pannasiha Mahanayake
Thera of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Maha Sangha Sabha will be brought from
Matara to be installed at the Vajiraramaya Bambalapitiya shortly.
The motorcade conveying the statue will leave Matara on September 2
and arrive at the Vajiraramaya on September 4 via Dehiwala and
Maharagama and will stop over along the way at various locations to
enable devotees to pay homage to the statue, said the Sri Lanka
Amarapura Nikayabhivurdhi Dayaka Sabha in a press release issued
yesterday.
The locations are September 2 at 2 p.m. - Matara Bodhi premises
followed by Matara St. Thomas' College, Pamburana Valukaramaya, Walgama
Bodhirukkharamaya, Kamburugamuwa Subhadraramaya, Weligama (UC) Town
Hall, Ahangama Goviyapana, Habaraduwa Talpe Welletota Sudharmaramaya and
Makandugoda Neegrodharamaya. September 3 at 9 a.m. - Galle Town Hall and
7 p.m. - Kalutara Bodhi. September 4, 7.15 a.m. start off from Kalutara
Bodhi and 8.15 a.m. - Wadduwa Mahindaramaya, 9 a.m. - Panadura Gunanada
Statue premises, 9.30 a.m. - Panadura Samadhi Statue premises, 10.15
a.m. - Rawatawatta Meditation Centre, 11 a.m. - Maliban Junction, 1 p.m.
- Bellanwila Raja Maha Viharaya, 2 p.m. - Maharagama Dharmayatanaya and
4 p.m. - Bambalapitiya Vajiraramaya.
