U-17 Cricket Awards today

The prize distribution of schools under 17 cricket tournament for MassCom. Trophy will be held today at the Moors-sports commencing at 4.00 pm.

The Tournament was conducted by the Schools Cricket Association along with MassCom. Pvt Ltd played a vital role in oganising the Tourney


GDAA relay carnival

The Gampaha District Athletic Association will conduct its seventh annual relay carnival and marathon from September 11 to 12 at De Mazenod grounds, Kadana.

The relay events will be for ages under 12, 14, 16 and 20 for boys and girls. The 10km marathon will for under 20 age group will be flagged off at 7.00a.m on September 12.

Entries should be addressed to the G.D. Premasiri, secretary Gampaha District Athletic, Association, 2981, Naiwala Road, Udugampola.

NSBA tourney from Sept 19

The Nationalised Badminton Association will conduct its All Island Open Badminton Championship from September 19-24 at S. Thomas' College Indoor Stadium in Mount Lavinia. This year the organisers with intention of promoting the sport has introduced events for age groups under 11,13,15 and 17 too.


Royal stay unbeaten

Royal College Colombo beat Galahitiyawa college by 36 runs in their division II second round match played at Royal College ground recently. Chaminda Dias was the top score for Royal with 69 runs with 10 boundaries. With this win Royal stay unbeaten in their group.

Royal 231 Chaminda Dias 69, Nilesh Manathunga 42, Gajidu Soyza 32, Ramila Shanthakumara 25, Nimendra Manathunga 23, Gihan Hettiarachchi 3/24, Thisara Wickramasinghe 1/9.

Galaitiyawa central 195 all out T. Wickramasinghe 80, G.D. Hettiarachchi 42, Kanchana De Seram 18, Lahiru Edirisinghe 2/38, Venura Gunawardena 2/22, Randeve Pathirana 2/26 for 02, Nimendra Manathunga 2/31).
