Hong Kong tea trade exhibition fruitful

The Hong Kong International Tea Trade Exhibition and Fair 2009 was
helpful in creating a strong background for Sri Lankan Tea in the world

after participating Hong Kong International Tea Trade Exhibition and
Fair 2009, held at Hong Kong last week.
The Minister said the delegation focused on the issues in tea
producing countries at the inauguration ceremony of the exhibition and
it was a good opportunity to pave a wide background for the country's
tea in the world market. The Minister said new relationships have been
created to market Sri Lankan tea to other countries in the world.
Jayaratne said it was emphasized at the Hong Kong International Tea
Exhibition that Sri Lanka should make efforts to retain the quality Sri
Lankan tea in the world market.
A delegation from 17 tea producing countries participated at the
exhibition.
Sri Lanka Tea Board Chairman Lalith Hettiarachchi and representatives
of seven private companies participated at the Hong Kong Tea Trade
Exhibition and Fair 2009. |
