Street children sent for rehab

Police Spokesman Senior DIG Nimal Mediwaka said a special police team yesterday arrested 13 street children with their mothers and later produced them before the Juvenile Magistrate's Court Colombo.

On a direction by Juvenile Court Magistrate, the 13 children and their mothers have been sent to rehabilitation centres in Colombo. The Police Spokesman had directed the Rehabilitations Centres to submit reports to him regarding their activities.
