Kurunegala by 38 runs

Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club beat Moratuwa Sports Club by 38 runs on Duckworth-Lewis system in their Under 23 Division I limited over inter club tournament cricket match organised by SLC and played at Moratuwa.

Homesters batting first made 195 runs with Tharanga de Silva hitting a sparkling 88 runs with nine fours and two sixes in 117 balls.

Visitors in reply when play stopped for bad light were 158 for the loss of three wickets with Upul Bandara unbeaten on 68 runs with six fours.

Chief scores:

MSC 195 (Tharanga de Silva 88, Danushka Gurusinghe 21, Milinda Fernando 2 for 12, Chamikara Edirisinghe 2 for 29).

Kurunegala YCC 158 for 3 (Rajitha Ratnayake 26, Upul Bandara 67 n.o., Thilina Herath 38, Milindu Fernando 2 for 32).
