Management tips in turbulent times:

Self-empowerment offers you the best

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants conducted a seminar on "Self-empowerment creating new features," recently.

Among others, the following were the main objectives of the seminar.

* Finding our strengths and power to change ourselves and the world around us.

* Creating strategies and action plans for a self-empowerment and helpful future.

* Acknowledging how we feel, experiences in the current times.

Several professional institutions are now conducting "self-empowerment program", Professional bodies feel that self-empowerment will lead the way to "Personal effectiveness, professional competence and organisational productivity."

Professional bodies also feel that self-empowered and self-disciplined people will lead the organisation with boldness, courage and determination.

There is no limit to what you can achieve if you set about it with diligence and determination. In the short run, the biggest constraints upon your performance lie in your attitude, skills and knowledge.

In the long run, you can develop all of them so that they need not constrain you at all.

The business world appears to be packed with people who are trying to be like one another. They follow the crowd, but the crowd is going nowhere. You want to make your own way in the world. You want to have a point of difference, something that's a bit special.

Self-empowerment and self affirmations

You can become "self-making" by thinking Big. It is the rule of success that if you think big.

In indoctrinating yourself for bigger and better achievements, there is no place in your vocabulary for self pity. According to Frank James of the Motivational Institute, there is no place for sympathy or fear.

To free the mind of fear, discouragement and doubt, you have to feed your subconscious mind with words of positive planning, enthusiasm, determination and faith. You have to indoctrinate yourself with the message of achievement.

How to self-indoctrinate yourself

We are controlled by suggestions. These are used to help release positive mental energy to build our potential, abilities and talents. By a series of command control patterns, you can inculcate anything into your mind or minds of others that you desire. You can fine tune yourself for success through self imposed ideas and suggestions.

Suggestion is a repeated and regular planting of a "Purposeful and persuasive" success message.

This is planted by the subconscious and conscious mind to lead you on to success.

Repeat the success message to yourself with complete concentration daily before retiring to bed and after waking up.

The French druggist psychologist Emile Coue persuaded people to start the day by repeating, "Day by day, in ever way, I am getting better and better" twenty times. Those who tried it found the results to be very effective.

Self-empowerment statements

Good habits are formed by deliberate action. Our thoughts guide our actions. We are what we think. To change our habits or imbibe new habits, we have to first change our thinking process.

We have to think of the positive - what we want to be, what we want to do and how we want to feel.

Self empowerment, is the process of affirming our desires in a powerful and positive present tense as though they are real. Studies have proved that self empowerment has the potential to accomplish our desires. In fields such as medicine and sports, self empowerment is applied extensively to bring about the desired results.

The rules for practising self-empowerment statements are:

* Self empowerment statements should always be expressed in the present tense.
