State Bank of India creates record

State Bank of India, the largest bank in India has achieved another landmark by opening, 2151 ATMs and 154 branches in India, the largest number on a single day by any Bank in the world.

The Union Finance Minister of India Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the branches and the ATMs online simultaneously.

With this, the number of branches of State Bank of India across India has increased to 11,853 and ATMs to 13,983. Besides, SBI has a global presence with 92 branches in 35 countries covering all time zones.

The Bank has plans to add 1000 branches and 10,000 ATMs this fiscal year and cater to 50,000 villages in India.

Through their vast branch and ATM network, The Bank has reached every nook and corner of the country. The technological initiatives undertaken by the Bank are helping to a great extent in bringing about true financial inclusion.
