A collection of Sri Lankan English poetry
LASA an association committed to social and cultural activities is
planning to bring out a half yearly compilation of English poetry by Sri
Lankan poets.
The president of the association Dr Nimal Sedera is hopeful that this
move will help promote the talent in English poetry. This publishing
scheme is done on a self help basis to ensure continuity and the
financial success. The first issue is expected to carry the new poetry
of 100 Sri Lankan poets irrespective of age limits.
A panel will select the suitable poems for the compilation and the
best ten will be awarded certificates. A further workshop on English
poetry will be held on the day of the launch of the publication.
Poems not exceeding thirty lines will be considered for the first
publication, and details could be obtained by sending a self addressed
